Jakob is 4 Months Old!

October 26, 2011
Jakob is now 4 months old! The past month has been busy and fun with all of the holidays coming up. We've done a lot of things and Jakob has been perfect! He is really fun to take places because he is so easy (most of the time). He is doing fantastic physically and developmentally.

His new things this month are supported himself a little better sitting in the bumbo which is all the time now, sitting in his highchair for the first time, babbling more, rolling over from his back to his stomach and vice versa, laughing at everything, liking Noah a little more, picking up and holding his toys better, cramming his hands in his mouth constantly, and starting to eat his baby cereal and baby food.

He just had his 4 month check up and everything was great. He hated the shots but he survived and so did I. His crying is so much harder for me than Noah's was for some reason. It's just so heart-wrenching! I hate it! I can't remember what his weight was exactly but I do know that he was in the 75% in height and weight.

One funny thing that Jakob does is his laugh! It's not so much of a belly laugh but just a really loud squeal that he does over and over with a big small on his face. It's really cute! One of my favorite things is when he laughs at something Noah does. Noah loves it and will try to keep making him laugh until Jakob ends up crying because got in his personal space a little too much.

We've also been trying to read him books a lot. Noah still doesn't really like to read books so we aren't really in a good habit of reading to them. I'm going to start trying again with both of them though because I do think that it is important. We try to get Noah books that he may actually like such as any kind of book having to do with trucks. Especially trash trucks! Those are his absolute favorite!

Speaking of Noah, he is doing great as well. He's been a little sick lately which has been causing him to throw up some. He threw up all over himself in the car the other day because of his congestion (mixed with a little car sickness). Oh, and it was in the parking lot right before we were about to walk into a wedding. Thankfully, it didn't get on me and I had enough sense to bring him some extra clothes. We survived and even made it to the wedding on time but he was a little gross still.

Noah is all about Jakob right now and he started calling him Jakie. I guess that will be his name for now because it seems to be catching on with everyone. The first thing Noah says when he gets up in the morning is, "Where's Jakie? I want to play with Jakie!"
