14 Weeks and Growing!

September 14, 2009

This week has been a big week for Noah. He is learning to do so many new things that I can hardly keep track of everything. He has started blowing raspberries, sucking his thumb constantly, grabbing at his toys and blankets, batting dangling toys on his play mat, grabbing his feet, rolling over more, and shrieking all the time. He is also getting a bit of the flat head syndrome so I'm trying to keep him on his right side but so far no luck. He just rolls right back over to what is more comfortable for him. I try putting things behind him but he is just too strong. I guess he will just have a bit of a flat head. Hopefully his hair will cover it up. He is also wearing down a bald spot on the back of his head from whipping his head back and forth so much. Like I said, very strong baby! We are going to have our hands full when he starts getting mobile.

He is still extremely talkative and yells ALL THE TIME...no matter what he is doing. He loves to be talked to and has an extremely long attention span for such a young baby. He loves his books and grabs at them now. He is also learning how to grab hair and pull it...fun. The spitting up is getting a little better but he is still doing it quite a bit. Basically, he is doing great in every aspect and I couldn't be happier! He is a wonderful baby and I love hanging out with him and watching him grow.

Here's a video of him cracking up at me the other day:

Dress up!

September 11, 2009

Well, as we all know, the best part about having a baby is dressing them up! Noah got his first Harley outfit (thanks to Grandpa) so we had a photo shoot this past week at the farm with Grandpa and his Harley. Noah was pretty into it, but was disappointed that he couldn't go for a ride yet. MAYBE in a a few years - we'll see.

Noah also has a super cute OU outfit so I had to get some pictures of that before he grows out of it even though I'm not a huge OU fan. Enjoy!! I know I did!

3 Months Old!

CRAZY HANDS!!

Noah's favorite thing these days --- his HANDS! Oh my gosh, he never stops playing with them. They are everywhere! Always in his mouth (which is fun when he is spitting up everywhere), grabbing everything in sight, and constantly latched together. He is SO strong that it is nearly impossible to keep them in control. He still loves his pacifier but his hands are always pulling it out of his mouth. He is capable of throwing it completely out of his swing now. He always has to have his pacifier when he is taking a nap, so we have about a 20 minute fight with the hands every time he takes a nap. The swaddler is about the only thing that can control them, but he still manages to get out of it every night.

Speaking of nights, those are getting so much better. He will sleep for 7 to 8 hours at a time now, which is awesome. I still am up a lot during the night because I get so worried about him not breathing. He is in a great routine now. He is extremely predictable so that makes it really easy when someone else is watching him for a few hours. Everyone that babysits always comments on how easy he is to watch. He pretty much does the exact same thing everyday. Up at 7, eat, nap at 8:30, eat at 10, nap at 12, eat at 1, nap at 3, eat at 4, nap, eat at 7, nap by 8:30, then eat at 10 and he's down for the night - then we start over the next day.

New things he is doing now:

Laughing a lot!
Talking more
Sitting up in his bumbo
Grabbing toys
Rolling over
Supporting his own weight on his legs for a few moments
More aware of strangers (which is pretty much everyone except me and Matt)
Startles easily (and cries every time)
Growing out of 0-3 month clothes :(

Daddy time!

September 10, 2009

Noah is continuing to grow like a weed. I'm going to estimate his weight at 14 1/2 pounds, which is almost double the amount he weighed when he was born. His favorite activities continue to be going outside, watching baseball, and spitting up on his mama. Tomorrow we are taking him to his first football game in Oklahoma City. It's only a high school game, but it will be a good start for him. I'm going to be leaving for Dallas for two weeks, so hopefully he can hold down the fort while I'm gone.
