Trip to the Zoo

August 28, 2011

I'm a little behind on my blogging, yet again, so I'm going to play catch up so bear with me...

Life is pretty much the same around here. Jakob is getting chubbier every single day still and Noah is getting more, well, "Noah" every day. I don't think there is a word that can adequately describe Noah but he is an absolute MESS!

I can't say that his behavior is really bad, because it's not. He's just completely crazy! He's started this new thing where he gets really wound up and just spins out of control. He runs around the house screaming and throwing things like a maniac! He's just having fun but it's a little much for me and Jakob. Jakob isn't really that fond of Noah right now and cries every time that Noah gets near him. That's probably because he usually gets hit or scratched or yelled at.

Jakob is still a very sweet little baby and likes things to be quiet and calm. Me too, Jakob, me too...

He is now cooing much more and smiles constantly. He really loves to be talked too and likes to talk back to you. On the not so good side, he is still eating every 2 hours on the dot and can't really go over that at all. I think at this age, Noah was going about 3 to 3.5 hours between feedings. All I can get done is nursing Jakob. He eats pretty fast though so at least I don't have to sit down for an hour each time like I did with Noah.

Jakob is also still getting up a lot at night. He's up about every 3 hours and hasn't made any progress in sleeping for long stretches. Currently, he is sleeping in his swing in the living room so I've been sleeping on the couch. If I try to put him in my room in the bassinet, he doesn't sleep at all. I'm starting to get pretty exhausted so hopefully he will get the sleeping thing figured out soon.

Noah making a "cake". He drug out all of the bowls and poured a little bit of cornstarch in each one. I had a lot of dishes to do that night :)

We've been pretty cooped up this summer so I decided that we needed to get out of the house and do something. We decided to take both of them to the zoo. They have $1 days on the wednesdays in August so we took advantage. They had a really good time for a couple of hours then Jakob got hungry and Noah got hot so we packed up and went home. This was the first time that Noah has been to the zoo where he really knew what the animals were and liked to see them.

Finally! I got a good picture of Jakob smiling his big beautiful smile!

Noah had to get in on the action...
