Noah has become an expert with the spoon this week. He is doing awesome eating his cereal and I think we are going to start him on baby food next week. Just veggies for now, we'll do the fruit in a few more weeks. I don't want a picky eater! He loves to eat his cereal and launches himself toward the spoon every time we sit down to eat. He really likes to hold it himself and try to feed himself but he just chokes himself with it (yes I did let him try). Here is a picture of Matt feeding him last night. He got himself into position and stayed that way the entire time. It was pretty funny:
He is starting to roll a lot. I think I mentioned that last time. Very mobile with the rolling. I think it's time for an exersaucer so he can play safely without me watching his every move.
Baby just woke up...more later!

Almost 4 months old! It seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital, but I will probably still be saying that when he turns 18. I weighed with him today and as far as I can tell he's a little over 16 pounds now. We will find out for sure next week at his four month checkup. He is getting so big! Now he is starting to get really long and not just fat. His arms are so long that none of his long sleeved outfits fit him. The next biggest size is still way too big so I guess we will just tough it out for a couple more months. He is into 3-6 month size now. His legs are still a little short though - he can still wear 0-3 month size pants. Maybe that's just a baby thing though. Chances are he will end up with extremely long legs.
He is also a VERY active baby. He likes constant attention and is usually not too happy if I leave him alone very long. He likes to play on his play mat a lot and can last there about 20 minutes or so. He is grabbing at everything in sight! He especially likes to grab my face, hands, shirt, and hair. It is his favorite thing to do right now. He also really likes to rub things. Last night when I put him down he spent about 30 minutes just rubbing the side of the bassinet. He really liked to rub the velcro strips. He also rubs my hands and arms all the time. I guess he is getting more aware that different things feel different. So, since I noticed this, I thought it would be fun to let him start petting Max and Zoe. Zoe really like it and licked all over his hands (don't worry I cleaned them really good), but Max was a different story. Noah really liked Max's fur so he dug both hands in really good and got two big handfuls of hair and skin. Then he pulled. HARD. Needless to say I don't think Max will be getting anywhere near Noah for awhile.
I think Noah is starting to do a little preteething. He drools SO much and chews on everything in sight. If my finger is anywhere near his mouth he just chews away on it. I was reading about it and they say babies start preteething at 4 months so I guess it's time. Mom said we all started getting teeth about 5 months, and apparently that's something that is heredity. So, he will probably have a few teeth here in a couple of months.
I finally got a good video of him rolling over. Here it is:

I've still been sick this week so hopefully Noah will stay healthy. He's great so far. A little coughing but no fever so I haven't taken him to the doctor yet. We haven't been going to church very much since Noah was born, mostly because Matt is usually gone on the weekends and I was scared to take him by myself. So I decided that it was time for us to start going again. Matt wasn't there this weekend but I took him anyway. It was interesting...
We started off pretty good, then he got hungry. So I fed him and thought he would calm down after that and take a nap. Wrong! He got really hyper and excited so I tried to distract him with toys. That just made him louder. He talked/yelled the entire time we were there. I got up and left with him a few times but it didn't help. I couldn't even tell you what the sermon was about. BUT, I'm determined. We'll try again next week.
Matt finally got home this weekend, so we are really happy that he's back. Noah missed him like crazy, and I did too. Two weeks away from each other is way too long!
Noah is continuing to be more and more interactive with us. He really knows our voices now so I can't talk at all when I'm trying to get him to sleep or he wakes up and wants to play. He plays a lot with me while he is nursing so it takes him forever to finish. He likes to look up at me and say a few things, smile, then nurse for a second, then start over. It's pretty funny and I always play with him for a few minutes so I definitely encourage it. He is expert at holding his head up now and can sit up with just a little bit of back support. He is really good at pulling himself into a sitting position holding onto my hands. He also LOVES to stand up. He can push himself into a full standing position and hold it for a couple of minutes if I hold his arms. He HATES to be tickled. He smiles a little at first then his face gets all red and he gives me this look like, "what on earth do you think you're doing?!" He must get that from me because I hate it too.

Matt has been gone this week for work so Noah and I are just hanging out by ourselves for a couple of weeks. We were pretty bored after a week together alone so we went to Stillwater this weekend with Grandma to see Kels and Cody. We had a really good time. We got to see Mum-Mum, Evelyn, Kristie and Heather again. Noah really ate up the attention and did really well. It's still really hard for me to travel with him since we have to take so much stuff with us. Luckily, Kelsey gave up her bed for a couple of nights so it wasn't too bad. Noah still slept really well although I didn't take his swing so he hardly took any naps at all.
On Tuesday, we decided to go to the fair with Abby, Kelsey, and Cody. I wasn't going to take him this year, since I always gripe about all the people there with little babies, but I couldn't resist. Now I understand why people take them --- it's really FUN! He had a great time and hung out with Uncle Cody a lot. We had some indian tacos and fudge which is pretty much the only reason I go. We were there about 4 hours and it was really hot. However, Noah never got fussy even a little bit. I was really proud of him! He is such a good boy!
Unfortunately, the next day Abby was sick and we found out she had strep. So, of course, I got it within a couple of days. I'm still watching Noah for any signs of sickness but so far so good. Babies must have really good immune systems because he has definitely been exposed a lot.
