Happy Halloween - Part 3

October 30, 2010

This is the last Halloween post I promise. I just had too many pictures to put them all in one post. Well, after the birthday party we took all of the kids trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. It was a long day but they were still really excited and ready to go. I am so thankful that the weather was nice and we could really enjoy being outside without having to worry about the kids freezing.

Noah absolutely loved it! He couldn't wait to go up to the next house and kept trying to go inside everyone's house. He loved the attention and the candy. He didn't get scared once even when a house was really decorated with a lot of scary stuff. He walked by himself pretty much the whole time and carried his own pumpkin. He is getting so big so fast that I can't believe all that he can do now. He got very very tired at the end and fell asleep in Grandma's arms before we got back to the house. We had a great Halloween and look forward to next year!

Putting on Yoda again!

Happy Halloween - Part 2

October 30, 2010

It seems like we celebrated Halloween a lot this year, which is fine with me. It was a lot of fun. Noah was old enough this year to really enjoy it and loved all the candy (of course). My Mum-Mum's birthday is on the 30th and this year she turned 80. We had a big party at our house for her and the whole family came over. We had a great time just hanging out since we don't really get together that much anymore. Kristie brought Matthew and Mary, Heather had Zoey (who is 9 months), and Mikal brought Carter (6 months). So we had a lot of little ones running (and rolling) around. It was so much fun but my house was an absolute wreak. Noah had a blast playing with them all. He really loves playing with the older kids but was fascinated by the babies. Luckily, the weather was awesome so we were able to let them play outside all day and take them to the park for awhile before trick-or-treating.
Noah and Matthew playing at the park. They were both running in opposite directions the whole time so I didn't get any pictures of them together.

Happy Halloween - Part 1

October 28, 2010

Noah had his first Mother's Day Out Halloween party this year. It was really a lot of fun for both of us. I really love watching him interact with other kids. He is just so social that he really needs to be around other kids and people or he isn't happy. Putting him in MDO was the BEST decision. He is doing great in it! Anyway, Noah was Yoda this year for Halloween. Matt and I decided that we were going to make our kids Halloween costumes from now on so this was my first attempt. It actually turned out really cute and fit perfect. Everyone loved it and the best part was that I spent $10 instead of $50.

I showed up for the party about 10 minutes late so they were already making the rounds to all of the classrooms to get their candy. Noah was doing great until he saw me. Then he refused to follow his class and just wanted me to carry me. Plus he was getting distracted by all of the candy in his bucket and wanted to sit down and eat it all. I had to drag him along after his class to keep up but we made it through. Then we sat in his class with all the other kids and he chowed down on his candy. I don't really ever give him candy so I didn't realize how obsessed he was with it. He ate every bit of it that he could. Then he tried to take the other kids candy.

Another candy story...

He made this really cute pumpkin in his class out of paper and it had candy corns on the legs and arms. Well, Matt picked him up that day and told me about it and said that Noah attacked the pumpkin and tried to eat the candy corns off the legs. I laughed and didn't think anything else about it. I hung the pumpkin on the fridge along with everything else he makes, but every single time I would walk by it holding him he would attack the fridge and try to get the candy corns. Needless to say, soon they were completely eaten off the pumpkin (along with a little glue and paper). It was a fight every day. He never forgot about it. Well, fast forward a few more weeks. I went to his class and was talking to his teacher about him and she mentioned the pumpkin. She said that while they were making them he wouldn't stop eating the candy corn so they finally had to hide the bag but he wouldn't stop looking for it. He would track it down then scream for more candy. It must have been pretty bad because she was still talking about it several weeks later. So, long story short, Noah is obsessed with candy. More than normal I'd say....

The Maize

October 21, 2010
We decided to go to The Maize in Weatherford this year for our annual pumpkin patch trip. We invited Carter and Mikal to go with us to pick out some good pumpkins. It was a great idea, however, the weather did not cooperate at all. It had been SO nice lately so it didn't even cross my mind that it would be freezing cold with the wind blowing like crazy. We made the best of it though and ended up having a pretty good time regardless. They have a lot of neat things to do like the hay ride to the pumpkin patch, a huge jumper thing, a bunch of slides, a pretty good petting zoo, and ,of course, the corn maize. We did it all. We decided that we are definitely going back next year when Noah is a little older. He'll be able to do a lot more than he could this year. Carter didn't last too long. The weather was just a little too much for him so they had to leave after we made the trip to the pumpkin patch. Noah wasn't feeling too great either so we didn't get to stay all that long. Hopefully, the weather will be a little better next year.

More Playing Fun

October 14, 2010
We've been spending a lot of time outside lately in the front yard playing with the neighborhood kids. Noah absolutely loves them and hates being trapped inside all day. Here are some cute pictures of them all playing in the driveway:

Blaise taught Noah how to shoot the gun and Noah loved it! He was cracking up and chasing Blaise around to shoot it again.

Fun with Aunt "B"

October 14, 2010
Noah had his very first overnight trip this past weekend. Matt and I went to the OU game so we were going to be out really late so Noah took a trip to Shawnee to stay with Abby. I think they had a lot of fun! She took him to the Fall Festival at Tecumseh and they went to the pumpkin patch. He won a little pumpkin and a straw playing games at the festival and she said he kept trying to sit on all of the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. He slept great and only got up once for 20 mins or so. Not too bad for being somewhere new without mama. We will definitely be doing another overnight trip again soon. It was nice to sleep in a little and get up without having to immediately deal with Noah.

On his way to Aunt B's house. I finally turned the carseat around since his legs were getting so long. This was his first long trip with the carseat facing forward so he could see. He thought it was a pretty big deal.

16 Months Old

October 8, 2010

Yes, I'm a little behind on the blogging yet again. Time always goes by so fast that before I know it I'm a month behind on everything. I hadn't even downloaded my pictures from Halloween until today (11/20). So, I'm trying to get caught up finally.

Anyway, Noah is doing great as usual. He's still a complete mess (if not even more than usual). His favorite things to do right now are playing outside with the neighborhood kiddos, beating up Max, Zoe, Matt, and me with anything he can find. Bats are still a favorite though. I'm on the verge of hiding them all from him because I'm sick and tired of getting hit a million times a day. It doesn't hurt much yet but it will soon and I don't want him to do any permanent damage to anyone or anything.

He hasn't really changed too much over the last month. He's still not into reading, but we try. He still won't say much, but we try. I've been trying to get him to point to body parts more which he will do if there's some fun associated with it. Like for his nose, we hold our noses and talk funny which he likes. If I just want him to show me his nose though, forget it. He has no interest. I was all stressed about getting him to do more but I'm over it. This is just Noah and he does things in his own way. He always has and probably always will so I better get used to it.

He's still not behaving that great. We are really working on getting him to stop hitting us when he is mad and it's getting a little better. At least now he knows he's not supposed to do it. I've also been trying to just ignore the one million crying/screaming fits he throws each day when he doesn't get his way. He still goes to time out quite a bit but if I put him in there for every fit he would spend the whole day in the crib crying. I try to just use that for the really bad stuff and just ignore him on the other things without giving him his way.

Other than the temper, he is a great little boy! We have a lot of fun every day playing and wrestling around. He is very very active and hates to sit still even for a second. He loves his tools and has figured out how to use them all. The newest ones for him to figure out are the screws and screwdriver. He knows how to put the screw in the hole, then put the screwdriver in the top and turn it. He figures out everything after just watching me do it once. I know he's really smart, he just doesn't say much yet (that I can understand anyway). He can also put my keys in the keyholes (even using the right keys for the rights keyhole...door, car, etc...).

Holding him down to brush his teeth which he obviously HATES! He clamps his mouth shut so hard that it is impossible to get the brush in there. He now has all of his first molars in so we are up to 12 teeth.

Watching Baby Einstein after he dirtied his 800th outfit for the day. I gave up and just threw one of my t-shirts on him.
